Homeschool Consulting
Need help navigating the world of homeschooling? Not sure if you’re making the right choice? Wondering where to even start and if you’re even a good teacher?
I can help!
What is Homeschool Consulting?
It’s an opportunity to talk to another mama who has experience in teaching, child development, and homeschooling her own children. Think of it as a coffee date with your best friend where you share all your concerns and get your questions answered. You can just vent and share your thoughts as you’re trying to make the decision to homeschool, or we can create a step-by-step plan to get you started or overcome challenges together. I’m here to help support you on this homeschooling journey and create a plan that works for your unique family.
Who is Homeschool Consulting For?
Any homeschooler! It doesn’t matter if you’re a seasoned homeschooler or just starting out. We all need support at different points of our journey.
What Type of Challenges/Concerns/Questions Can Be Addressed During a Homeschool Consultation?
My specialty is child-led learning and child development. But I can also help with:
- Choosing a curriculum that best meets the needs of your children
- Creating a learning plan so you don’t feel like you’re falling behind
- Giving you all the information about homeschooling (or pointing you in the right direction to find the information) to help you make the best decision about your child’s education
- Understanding how children grow, develop, and learn
- Troubleshooting when challenges arise
- Inspiring you when things get tough
- Developing a routine that best suits your family’s unique needs (single parents, working parents, self-care, etc.)
- Creating a learning lifestyle so that your child is always learning
When our time together is over, my hope is that you walk away with confidence, motivation, and a simple plan of action.
What Are the Benefits of Homeschool Consulting?
You have a few choices…
Choice #1: Spend years trying to find the perfect curriculum for your child. You and your child will most likely spend more time yelling, arguing, and crying over curricula that just aren’t working.
Choice #2: Ask a million questions in a Facebook group full of homeschooling parents with differing views. You’ll end up more confused as ever and start questioning if homeschooling is even the right choice for your family.
Choice #3: Talk with a homeschooling and child development expert about all of your concerns, questions, and challenges. Then walk away with a solid, easy-to-follow plan of action to help you do it right the first time.
A homeschool consultation helps you weed through all of the noise and create a workable plan that fits the needs of your unique child.
Who is the Consultant?
As a former elementary school teacher, Amanda has spent her whole life learning about education. Weirdly enough, it’s one of her most cherished hobbies.
Amanda is passionate about education and developmentally appropriate practices. She is dedicated to helping parents understand the REAL developmentally appropriate standards that their children should be meeting in each grade level.
Amanda is a supporter of delayed academics, child-led learning, and open-ended learning experiences. She strives to help parents feel confident in their educational choices while also making it fun for both the child and the parent.
Amanda has worked in child care, head start, private schools, and public schools with over 15 years of teaching experience. She has an AAS in Early Childhood Education, a BS in Elementary Education, and is currently working towards her MS in Developmental Psychology with a focus on child and adolescent development.
